The answer is don't have a car, it is the issue City Dwellers have coming to Southport. In Manchester city centre there are dozens of high rise blocks without a single parking space, the residents use Public Transport, their legs or hire e scooters, car ownership for them would be an impossible burden.

As for the refurbishment and partial repurposing of the former Garrick Theatre, it seems unlikely that car parking provision will be a limiting factor. Its redevelopment will hinge on how developers feel about Lord Street and the resort's businesses, generally. If there is a clear direction and optimism about the town's future prosperity, then the money can be raised. Otherwise, no. |
